Water Engineering for Namibia

Aquarius Consult was established in 2010 by Dr Günter Gerhard Lempert after he sold his shareholding in the largest Namibian water and wastewater contracting company at that stage, viz. Aqua Services & Engineering (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Lempert has specialized in water treatment and has been fundamental in major water and wastewater treatment projects not only in Namibia but also far beyond our borders. He has been and is still involved in many major water treatment projects in South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, DRC and even as far afield as Guinea. The strength of Aquarius Consult lies in finding appropriate solutions for local conditions, with most applicable technology employed for specific conditions.  The following are only two examples that emphasize this strength:

• Direct potable reuse of reclaimed wastewater in Windhoek – the detailed process design and commissioning of the 20 ML/d New Goreangab Water Reclamation Plant was undertaken by Dr Lempert personally;
• New Generation Trickling Filter technology for wastewater treatment was adopted and simplified for local conditions by Dr Lempert. Over 250 of these systems have already been designed and are currently in operation, not only in Namibia but throughout Southern Africa.
